Confluence Markdown Import

In the following short video (in German), I go through the steps above and demonstrate how the import is done and its results on a live Confluence. It was long ago when I was still learning the price action that I asked a veteran trader to tell me something which can really change a trader's fortune”. Without blinking his eyes he told.

Like most people, you probably have data, documents, and notes scattered across many files and apps. You can centralize your information in one place by moving it all into Notion 🚚
  • Notion lets you directly import the following file types:
    • Plaintext (.txt)
    • Markdown (.md or .markdown)
    • Microsoft Word (.docx)
    • Microsoft Excel (.xls)
    • CSV (.csv)
    • HTML (.html)
  • You can also import data from a number of other apps (like Confluence,Asana, Evernote, and Trello to name a few).
  • To do this, click Import toward the bottom of your left-hand sidebar.
  • That brings up the import window where you can choose which app to migrate (App-specific import instructions below)

  • Select HTML from the list of formats
  • Select Custom Export and uncheck the Include comments box.
  • Select which pages you want to export β€”please note that pages containing large attachments can significantly increase the export size and complexity!
  • Allow your export to finish processing β€” this can take a while if you have a large workspace
  • Once the export is complete, click Download here to save the export to your computer
  • You should have a file titled something like Confluence-space-export-XXXXXX.html.zip, where XXXXXX is a sequence of digits
Step 2: Import your Confluence space to Notion
  • Start by navigating to the Notion workspace where you'd like to import your Confluence content into
  • Click the Import button at the bottom of your left-hand sidebar, then select Confluence in the pop-up window that appears
  • Navigate to the .zip file exported from Confluence in the previous step, and select it for upload
  • You should see an 'Uploading...' message as the browser uploads your file, then a status message as the import progresses
  • When your import completes, it should take you to your newly imported content ✨
FAQs
  • Do imported blocks count towards the 1000 block storage limit for Team Plan trials?
No, imported blocks will not count towards the limit. However, any blocks subsequently created inside imported pages will count towards the limit as usual.
  • When I try to import, I can't choose my file in the file upload window.
Please make sure to upload a .zip file created by the Confluence space export functionality. Word documents and standalone HTML files will not work, since Notion relies on the whole import to preserve structure and links between pages.
  • If the 'Export' tab does not appear in the Content Tools section of a workspace's settings, you may not have the appropriate permissions to export pages. Ask the workspace administrator for permission.
